Utah's website pretty much sums up how you feel when you arrive to Bonneville Salt Flats:
"Imagine a place so flat you seem to see the curvature of the planet, so barren not even the simplest life forms can exist."
Uhhh. Yeah. This place is epic.
Stephanie & Kyle flew me out to Utah not once, but twice, because they wanted engagement photos in their home state as well as having me along for their wedding day a few months later. Talk about an honor! I love photographing these moments in people's lives, and when I am able to combine that love with getting to travel, well, there's nothing quite like it. I used to be an accountant, and I can still remember sitting at my desk daydreaming about traveling, hanging out with people in epic locations, and doing what I love to do the most. It's surreal how much has changed since that time in my life, and I'm incredibly grateful for it.
(Sidenote: I'm now offering mentor sessions to photographers who want to leave their 9-5, so get in touch if you're interested in a mentoring session!)
As for this shoot, the sun gods blessed us with an overcast day and the salt gods blessed us with, well, salt. Really! Salt for as far as the eye could see. Vast, open landscapes like this are what make my heart skip a beat, and this location was truly more unique than anything I've ever seen.
This is just stunning friend. I love it.
